Running Accomplishments:

I started running in September 2007 - 4 months after baby #8 was born.  Since then I have finished two 5Ks, three 10Ks, three half-marathons, and I completed my first Marathon with at time of 4:48- the Phoenix Rock-N-Roll - Jan 2009!  Marathon #2 showed GREAT improvement - the Saint George Marathon 2009 with a time of 4:10 - YEAH!!!!

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to run more marathons, finish injury-free, go dancing afterwards, and mostly have a LOT of FUN!!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running!!!  Someday I want to be able to consider myself as something other than a beginner.  :D

Personal:

I am happily married, have 8 children, and am madly in love with my awesome husband!!!  Besides running, I love performing on stage, and have recently become re-involved in the theater, after a LONG break to have children.  Last summer I did my first show as a PAID professional actress!  I teach piano and voice lessons, and homeschool my kids.  Life is grand!

Well since Burt posted a picture of me on here and everyone I know was talking about it, I may as well start blogging again.  The reason for my long absence is this...I had a bad bike accident in December that trashed my hips and pelvis, and I couldn't run for months.  It was a bummer because it messed up my Ironman training pretty badly too.  Then I decided to go back to school full time in addition to IM training, and then I got cast as the title role of "Medea" at Dixie College...sooo....I basically had NO time for anything but school, eat, sleep, rehearsals, and training.  My poor orphaned eight kids.  Anyway, I ended up getting heat exhaustion on the Ironman and not being able to finish (I don't want to talk about it!!) so I ran a marathon a week ago to get my finish line fix.  It was a small race, only about 90 runners, in Blanding, UT, so I finished 4th overall in the women and took first in my division.  Well, that will probably NEVER happen again, although I am considering becoming a small race junkie so that I can win awesome little trophies and have more brag rights - haha!!

Currently I am doing cross fit as the base of my training, and will be doing interval work and time trials to prepare for my upcoming races.  I am planning on the Utah Half 70.3 in August, and am also planning on getting my BQ at the Saint George Marathon this October.

Cross fit WOD today:

4 rounds, 7 each, 18:14. Hand Stand Push-ups, Thrusters (65#), Knees to elbows, Deadlifts (85#), Burpees, Kettle Bell Swings (35#), Pullups.  I was slow today...that's what I get for taking 10 days off and eating my mother's amazing but not-so-healthy cooking while on vacation!
