Elijah and I did a very easy, slow five miles this morning. Fifty-two minutes...we haven't gone that slow in FOREVER! But I'm still trying to gently break in my injured calve. It felt totally fine the whole run - I didn't even notice any difference. It's such a relief! I feel very hopeful for the marathon now. It would have been nice to get my 22 miler in, but 18 will have to do. My goal now is to eat really well for the next three weeks, so I can be at an optimum weight for the marathon. I figure if I blog it, I'll be better about sticking to my goal. I'd love to be about five pounds lighter for the race...which shouldn't be a problem for me. Five pounds less to carry for 26.2 miles! |
